A note from your teacher

Hello, and welcome!

Kai, your ukulele teacher

How it works

Four simple things to know

Watch and play along

Each lesson has a short video from Kai. Play along as you watch, and pause or replay as often as you like.

Mark each lesson complete

When you’re ready, press Mark Complete at the bottom of the lesson. That’s what saves your progress.

Try the exercises

Exercises are numbered (Ex. 1.a, Ex. 1.b and so on) and continue through the whole course, so they’re easy to find again later.

Little and often

Ten to fifteen minutes a day works better than one long session. You’ll find a simple routine further down this page.

Before you begin

What you’ll need

A ukulele. A soprano or concert ukulele is perfect for this course. Lesson 1 explains all four sizes if you’re still deciding.
A comfortable chair with room to sit up straight and keep both feet flat on the floor.
About 10 to 15 minutes for each session. No more than that is needed.
A metronome app (free ones are fine) for Lesson 5. Your phone will do.
